The St. Paul’s wrestling team continued to build momentum this season as the Wolves captured the District 6-5A wrestling championship with victories against Mandeville (67-4), Covington (57-21) and Fontainebleau (65-12).

St. Paul’s Coach Craig Ketelsen was pleased with how his team handled some of the challenges it faced at the tournament.  “The wrestlers did a great job, with many facing the challenge of being up a weight class as well as a tough district opponent,” he said. “I felt we set the tone early with some big wins versus Mandeville. Zach Clay, Tanner Leblanc, Jordan Peterson, and Zach Mangrum all defeated very tough Mandeville opponents. Two of our seniors – Trey Leblanc and Quinn Perret – have added consistent quality performances through the first half of the season."

Ketelsen said the Wolves’ next challenge will be at the Louisiana Classic on Jan. 18-19.
