IMPRESSIVE SHOWING FOR CRUSADERS

Defending Division I state champion Brother Martin had a strong showing at the prestigious Blackhorse Wrestling Tournament at Germantown, Tennessee.

Finishing a strong second behind Christian Brothers High of Memphis, who won with 323 points. Brother Martin tallied 302.5 points.

The Crusaders had four individual champions, including Austin Meyn ad 126 pounts, Dominic Casadaban at 138 pounds, Tyler Robertson at 145 pounds and Devin LeBlanc at 160 pounds.

Brother Martin head coach Robert Dauterive was disappointed about not winning the prestigious tournament but pleased with the way his team competed.

"We wrestled about as well as we are capable," Dauterive said. "It's tough to lose when you place 13 in the top four and score 300 plus points but I have to give credit to Christian Brothers. They are extremely talented and deserved to win."

Brother Martin returns to action Wednesday in a dual meet at East Ascension.
