WOLVES CONTINUE NORTH SHORE DOMINANCE
St. Paul's once again dominated 6-5A wrestling and dominates the all-district squad announced Monday.
Nine of 14 Wolves wrestlers were chosen by district coaches as first-team all-district performers, led by repeat state champion Connor Campo at 132 pounds, who went unbeaten over the last two years in Louisiana.
David Englehardt, who finished second in the state at 138 pounds, is a first-team performer as well. Other Wolves ranked at the top of their class in 6-5A include Chris Meraux at 120, Zach Clay at 126 pounds, Dominic Iovenitti at 145 pounds, Tanner LeBlanc at 152, Jordan Peterson at 160, John Brands at 182 and Zach Mangrum at 285 pounds.
St. Paul's head coach Craig Ketelsen is the district coach of the year.
Fontainebleau has three first-team performers, including Leaf Ballast at 113 pounds, Daniel Priola at 195 pounds and Chris Ponson at 220 pounds. Mandeville has two on the first team, including Nick desBordes at 106 pounds and two-sport star Jack Ingalls at 170 pounds.
