1986 Ken Cole Invitational

The host Comeaux High Spartans, coached by Don Gagnard, won the tournament for the first time and became the second host school to win. Lafayette won the third tournament in 1979 as the host school. Comeaux was led by Brian McCauley who repeated at the 155 lb. champion on his way to his second Division I State Championship at the same weight. Rene Cabellero of Redemptorist High School was selected as the outstanding wrestler in winning the 98 lb. weight class. The Most Pins-Least Time trophy was won by Eric Porter of Carencro who finished second at 138#s. He recorded four pins in 5:05. The Most Pins-Least Time trophy has been won five times by wrestlers with four pins, none none had less time than that recorded by Porter. In the first tournament, the Most Pins-Least Time trophy was won with three pins in 5:51. In the other four tournaments, the Most Pins-Least Time trophy was won by wrestlers with five pins.
