Jay Harris' officiating career lasted 41 years from 1981 to 2022, and from 1995 to 2023 he serve as the Secretary of the Greater Baton Rouge Region.  During his career he was recognized with the Wayne Schmidt Golden Whistle Award and was a member of the state tournament officials selection committee.  He also served on the Louisiana High School Official Association Executive Committee representing the Greater New Orleans area.
