Jerry Schmidt

Inducted: April 12th, 2025

Competed at Brother Martin High School from 1976-81.

Graduated from Tulane University in 1992.

Jerry was a Louisiana official for 30 years from 1994 to 2024.  From 1996 through 2001 Jerry served as the Secretary of the Greater New Orleans Region and from 2002 through 2017 he served as the President of the same organization.

Jerry has served as the Director of Officials, Head Official of the Louisiana State Tournament and was the Rules Interpreter from 2017 to the present.

Jerry is a recipient of the Wayne Schmidt Golden Whistle Award, named after his older brother Wayne who is also a Hall of Famer.  He is also a member of the Louisiana High School Officials Association Executive Committee representing the Greater New Orleans area.
